Both Course and Flying weeks will require support crews if you can help in any capacity; in particular Instructors, Tug Pilots, Winch Drivers and Duty Pilots.

Covid-19 Information
Following the Government's easing of restrictions, Club flying activities have now resumed.
If you have any symptoms or believe that you were in close contact with an infected person, you must do the following.

Get a test. Either a Lateral Flow Test (LFT) or the more accurate Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test done at home or a local test centre.

Do not visit the club if your test result is positive

Self isolate following Government / NHS guide lines

At the end of your isolation period you should then continue to test yourself as advised by the NHS.

Covid-19 Protocols For East Sussex Gliding Club
Coronavirus remains a serious health risk. You should stay cautious to help protect yourself and others.
The government have removed the legal restrictions but social distancing and wearing of masks in enclosed places are both sensible precautions to continue observing. This includes the clubhouse and the launch point as well as when in groups outside.
East Sussex Gliding Club strongly recommend that all members and visitors follow current government advice as below:

Meet outside, or open windows and doors for indoor visitors

If you think you have symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has or have been instructed to self-isolate, stay at home and take a PCR test

Wear face coverings in crowded places and on public transport

Check in to venues when you go out

Scan the QR code at the clubhouse or control van.

Sign the Flying List

Sign the visitors list

Wash your hands with soap regularly, and for at least 20 seconds

Take a Lateral Flow Test (LFT) twice a week, unless advised not to

If you are flying dual: -

Please consider wearing a mask.

If your instructor asks you to wear a mask then it will be a prerequisite to flying.

Some instructors are only prepared to participate with a higher level of precaution. This may include taking an LFT/PCR test within the last 24 hours. Some instructors may wish to see evidence of this.

The instructor’s wishes should be respected and adhered to

Face masks are no longer mandatory inside the club buildings or in club vehicles: -

If you want to wear one, then please do so.

Members are asked to respect social distancing from those wearing masks.

Disinfecting glider cockpits is no longer required, however: -

Wipes and disinfectant, for cleaning purposes, will still be available at the launch point (and throughout the club buildings and vehicles)

You are welcome to sanitise equipment before use.
