Covid-19 Information

Following the Government's easing of restrictions, Club flying activities have now resumed.

If you have any symptoms or believe that you were in close contact with an infected person, you must do the following.

  • Get a test. Either a Lateral Flow Test (LFT) or the more accurate Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test done at home or a local test centre.

  • At the end of your isolation period you should then continue to test yourself as advised by the NHS.

Please follow the protocols below to help us keep everybody safe

Covid-19 Protocols For East Sussex Gliding Club

Coronavirus remains a serious health risk. You should stay cautious to help protect yourself and others.

The government have removed the legal restrictions but social distancing and wearing of masks in enclosed places are both sensible precautions to continue observing. This includes the clubhouse and the launch point as well as when in groups outside.

East Sussex Gliding Club strongly recommend that all members and visitors follow current government advice as below:

  • Meet outside, or open windows and doors for indoor visitors

  • If you think you have symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has or have been instructed to self-isolate, stay at home and take a PCR test

  • Wear face coverings in crowded places and on public transport

  • Check in to venues when you go out

    • Scan the QR code at the clubhouse or control van.

    • Sign the Flying List

    • Sign the visitors list

  • Wash your hands with soap regularly, and for at least 20 seconds

  • Get vaccinated

  • Take a Lateral Flow Test (LFT) twice a week, unless advised not to
